Job Description:

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. (GDIT) has an opening for the position of Database Analyst Sr. Advisor (Ref# DASA917RS) .

Work Location: Position may telecommute / work remotely from anywhere in the U.S.

Job Duties: Support our mission critical production environments including our validation, test, and development environments. Support mission critical production systems, including off-hour deployments over nights and weekends or to support on-call team members. Support Oracle Databases, Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), and Oracle Data Guard along with other applications and databases. Automate routine database administrator (DBA) tasks using Python and Shell scripts. Triage issues and provide root cause analysis. Provide solutions to improve system performance tuning / optimization. Support capacity planning and forecasting. Proactively monitor and quickly address identified application or system issues. Clone, patch, and upgrade the Oracle database and EBS / HIGLAS (Healthcare Integrated General Ledger Accounting System). Backup and restore the database and applications. Maintain and support the synchronization of our production and disaster recovery (DR) environments. Support Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) backup/recovery and DR switchover/failover strategies. Support migrations of data and code to various environments. Support production and non-production Oracle applications and databases by resolving any incidents or service requests raised by the users. Responsible for the automation of EBS application and database cloning process using UNIX shell scripts and Ansible. Automate Oracle Applications and database start up and shutdown using Ansible.

Requirements: This position requires a Master’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field. Plus 6 years of experience in the job offered or 6 years in a related occupation including Database Administrator, IT Analyst, or related experience. Will accept a Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of progressive experience in lieu of the required education and experience. Position requires 6 years of experience with Oracle Database, Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), and Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN). Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional certification required. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience as per the requirements cited herein. 40hrs/week.

The likely salary range for this position is $128,775 - $174,225. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
