Air Mobility Command Recreation Aid in Fairchild AFB, Washington

Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the 92 Force Support Squadron, Red Morgan Community Center, Fairchild AFB, WA. The primary purpose of this position is to perform and/or assists other recreation assistants or specialist in the operation and maintenance of indoor and/or outdoor recreational facilities. This is a Flexible (Intermittent) position; guaranteed 0-40 hours per week; depending on the needs of the facility. Responsibilities Operates a cash register, Point of Sale (POS) system, processes product or service transactions including equipment loan, rentals, resale, and program registration; receives payments and makes change. Greets patrons in person, answers the telephone, takes messages, handles customer requests, makes referrals to the appropriate staff member. Performs numerous functions in support of recreation and fitness program delivery to include inventory control, equipment inspection, restocking, point of sale system operation and cash handling. Provides information concerning facilities and operation. Provides support for recreation event set up and break down. Assists in maintaining routine reports and/or performs clerical, custodial and/or general maintenance duties. Ensures adherence to regulations, safety and security procedures. Ensures proactive promotion of facilities. Incumbent must be able to work other than normal duty hours which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Qualifying Experience: Practical knowledge of recreational activities, rules, and procedures. Ability to safeguard and handle cash and skill in the use and maintenance of various recreational equipment and facilities are desirable; however, no experience is required. Must meet the state and legal age requirement for working with and/or serving alcoholic beverages. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
