Material Handler

Job Description

You will be responsible for operating a forklift and transporting fluids and materials. Your duties will include operating fluid carts, assisting the maintenance crew with coolant, oil, and other fluids in the machines, conducting inventory checks, palletizing, binding, and wrapping parts before shipping, ensuring workplace safety and adherence to company safety policies, tracking incoming and outgoing shipments, and ensuring orders are picked accurately. You will work in a team-oriented environment, aiding various machine operators in stocking necessary materials.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklift and transport fluids and materials

  • Operate fluid carts and assist the maintenance crew with coolant, oil, and other fluids

  • Conduct inventory checks, palletize, bind, and wrap parts before shipping

  • Ensure workplace safety and adherence to company safety policies

  • Track incoming and outgoing shipments and ensure orders are picked accurately

  • Work in a team-oriented environment and aid machine operators in stocking necessary materials

Essential Skills

  • Forklift operation

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Experience with manufacturing or a mechanical skillset

  • Proven attendance record

  • Flexible hours and willingness to switch shifts

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in material handling, general production, inventory management, and shipping

  • Knowledge of hand tools, RF scanners, sit-down and stand-up forklifts

  • Career-oriented mindset

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Fairbury,IL.
