POSITION SUMMARY

Since the doors opened in 1972, this factory has grown dramatically into a sustainable state-of-the-art facility. In 2013, we completed our largest solar project yet by installing a 450-kilowatt photovoltaic system of nearly 1,900 panels. The amount of energy produced annually by this solar array could power nearly 52 average-sized homes, or approximately 5,000 lights bulbs for an entire year. With sustainability and safety always top of mind, our Atlanta factory proudly and passionately produces 460,000 tons a year of our dry pet food brands, including Alpo®, Beneful®, Cat Chow®, Dog Chow®, Fit & Trim®, Friskies®, Nestlé Purina ONE® and Pro Plan®. This plant location is just along the southern crescent of Metro Atlanta – an area that nearly 5 million residents and over 340 of our associates can call home. Atlanta is considered the major commercial and financial center of the Southeast and, if this beautiful city were a country, it would be the 28th largest economy in the world.

As a Production Supervisor (Processing), you are responsible for the coordination of all first line management functions regarding production planning, production output, equipment maintenance, management of people, quality, safety, and sanitation of the processing department. In this role you will be required to a problem solver that drives Continuous Improvement efforts across the plant. This role will be required to be available for all shifts as required for business needs.

  • Direct supervision of hourly employees in our processing department.

  • Manage the processing schedule to maximize output while minimizing costs including active participation in problem solving to achieve these results.

  • Lead and coach integrated work groups to achieve results based on the factory’s continuous improvement plan.

  • Confers with engineering and maintenance in coordination of repairs and modifications to demonstrate ownership of the assigned areas of the factory.

  • Ensure products are produced in compliance with quality key check points and within “Good Manufacturing Practices”.

  • Implement and monitor the TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) program, which involves preventive maintenance, autonomous maintenance, and continuous improvement.

  • Train and coach the production workers on TPM principles and practices, such as 5S, OEE, and root cause analysis.

  • Provide safe working environment for employees

  • Coordinate product changeovers with material handling, processing, packing and quality assurance.

  • Strive to meet daily production demands.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing, military, or related environment.

  • 1+ years’ supervisory experience in a manufacturing, military, or related environment.

  • Must be open to working all 3 shifts: including overnight, weekends, and holidays.

The approximate pay range for this position is $50,000 to $90,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
