Manheim Remarketing Inc Videographer, Cox First Media in Fairborn, Ohio
Videographers are key positions in Cox First Media's drive to be the digital news and information leader in our market. This role drives our digital storytelling, creating news, information and entertainment videos for our audiences on multiple platforms, channels and products, including websites and social media. They're expected to create compelling, exciting video content based on the most important or interesting topics or events, with a goal to attract, grow and engage digital audiences. They need to be nimble, flexible and fast, and be able to quickly identify, respond to and film the top visual opportunities of the day. They should also be able to analyze metrics to gauge their own performance, using their learnings to tailor their work to best serve digital audiences. As part of their job, videographers must have strong news judgment, keen awareness of cultural and entertainment news, and journalistic principles. They must write accurate, clear and relevant video captions, and may also write or contribute to news and entertainment stories. Accuracy and meeting deadline are critical. The position is based in Dayton, Ohio. Cox First Media has a hybrid work environment. Cox First Media includes Dayton Daily News, Journal-News and the Springfield News-Sun. While this role is focused on Dayton Daily News, this position may be asked to do work that focuses on one of the other brands in Cox First Media, depending on organizational priorities, staffing and audience needs. Responsibilities Capture high-quality short and longform video content for various projects Create news, entertainment, and informational video content with a goal to grow and engage digital audiences in a variety of digital channels, including websites, social media, YouTube, etc. Plan and set up video shoots, including lighting and audio equipment Edit raw footage into polished, engaging videos Collaborate with the editorial team to develop video concepts Manage video archives and organize footage Ensure all video content aligns with brand guidelines Stay updated with industry trends and best practices Operate and maintain video equipment Conduct interviews and capture b-roll footage as needed Handle live streaming for events Minimum Qualifications Proven experience as a videographer or similar role High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and up to 1 year of experience; or 5 years' experience in a related field. Other Qualifications/Experience: Understanding and knowledge of all equipment and programs needed to execute photos and videos, including DSLR, natural, indoor and studio lighting techniques and best practices using mobile phone technology Experience with Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Adobe Sketch, Sketchbook, or similar programs Proficient in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro Strong understanding of camera operation, lighting, and audio equipment Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects Knowledge of motion graphics and visual effects is a plus Experience with live streaming is advantageous USD 19.18 - 28.80 per hour Compensation: Hourly base pay rate is $19.18 - $28.80/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
