Patient Observer - Emergency Department
Position Overview: As a Patient Observer in the Emergency Department, you will provide continuous, direct visual observation of patients to ensure their safety and well-being under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- BCLS Certification within 90 days of hire
- Strong communication skills and excellent customer service orientation
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuously observe patients at risk, such as those who are suicidal, through direct visual monitoring or video surveillance.
- Promptly notify the supervising nurse of any concerning changes in patient behavior or responses.
- Collaborate with the nurse at the start and end of each shift to review the patients observation care plan.
- Report on patient food and/or liquid intake as needed.
