SUMMARY: The Master Mechanic performs maintenance to s ervice, repair, and overhaul aircraft to ensure airworthiness . Utilizes technical skills and knowledge to train and develop mechanics. Assists Leads with the daily operation of a functional area while working under minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Reads and interprets manufacturer and airline maintenance manuals, service bulletins, drawings, engineering orders, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repair, replacement, or modification.
Oversees and co-signs for uncertified mechanics in accordance with the ATS RSM procedures as required.
Repair, modify, replace, or otherwise perform routine maintenance.
Uses technical data to order parts and ensures material is effective for the components being installed.
Gathers information to submit to Engineering as needed.
Recognizes unsafe conditions and takes immediate corrective action.
May assist Leads with planning, production, and quality control of assigned projects.
Estimates labor hour requirements as required.
Identifies opportunities to develop DER repairs.
Communicates effectively with other maintenance personnel at all levels by keeping co-workers and leadership apprised of work progress and difficulties as they arise.
Facilitates On-the-Job Training (OJT) to provide learning opportunities through work assignments and mentoring.
Recommends changes to processes to improve efficiencies and workflow.
Complies with and may communicate and guide team members on ATS policies, procedures, and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements. Promotes the "Balanced Technician" concept.
Mentors and develops mechanics assigned to their functional areas.
May assist in regular feedback and performance coaching, including appropriate time management, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring proper knowledge and training to accomplish assignments within the crew.
Responsible for accurate timekeeping, including clocking into jobs.
May be responsible for accuracy of clocking into jobs for assigned team.
Adheres to company training guidelines.
Regular and predictable attendance.
Effective and appropriate conduct with co-workers.

Troubleshooting problems requires detailed knowledge of specialty areas, paperwork, and publications, as well as an understanding of technical information.
General PC skills and basic knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word).
General working knowledge of Gateway programs and may include Oracle and other production tools.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of three (3) years’ recent component maintenance, commercial aircraft maintenance, and/or MRO experience is preferred.
PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit, stand, and walk, use their hands and arms, talk or hear, and focus on objects close up. The employee may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may also be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds using proper lifting protocols.
ENVIRONMENT:
Depending on your location, you may be required to pass a background check to obtain an SIDA (Security Identification Display Area) or AOA (Airport Operations Area) badge .
The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate to high. May occasionally work near moving mechanical parts in high, precarious places and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. May also work outside in various types of weather. This position requires the use of a respirator.
Compensation
The full base pay range for this position is 29.00-39.00 per hour, exclusive of benefits or potential bonuses. The lower end of the range represents the target base pay for those beginning or developing in the role. The higher end of the range is intended for those who have mastered the role with proven significant expertise, high achievement, and specialized skills. If you are hired at ATS, your hourly rate will be based on factors such as skills, education, and experience. In addition to those factors – we consider the internal equity of our current employees when determining offers. This position is eligible for an annual bonus.
