[]{#_Hlk15270516}SUMMARY: The Academy Trainers are responsible for developing and providing basic skills instruction, support and On-The-Job (OJT) training to meet ATS Academy and individual "Flight Path" career progression goals. They work closely with Operational Leads and Supervisors to ensure a smooth transition to Mechanic level. This position provides aircraft and customer training to mechanics at all levels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides initial classroom and hands on training to Apprentice Technicians to meet ATS, FAA and Customer training requirements.
  • Develops and provides ongoing classroom training, including customer, aircraft and other technical courses.
  • Utilizes the instruction techniques of lecture, video, computer-based training (CBT), electronic forums, demonstration, and testing to impart the required knowledge to a diverse population as outlined in the training objectives, while being sensitive to individual needs.
  • Uses the learning management system to verify course completion.
  • Assists with the development of technical course materials.
  • Evaluates student performance at specified intervals and provides relevant feedback, reinforcing positive student performance. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • []{#Hlk15452178}[]{#Hlk15271830}Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in maintaining aircraft or aircraft components; or four (4) years as an instructor in a commercial aircraft maintenance or aviation maintenance technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience with adult learning, course design, and class evaluation process preferred.
  • Repairman, Airframe and/or Powerplant certificate preferred, required for level 2.
  • Previous experience with adult learning, course design, and class evaluation process preferred.

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear; and focus on objects close up.  []{#_Hlk15452254}The employee will also be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Ability to handle and climb ladders and aircraft stairs.

Compensation

The full base pay range for Trainer I is $26.00 -- $39.00 per hour.

The full base pay range for Trainer II is $68,000 -- $98,000 annually.

The higher end of the range is intended for those who have mastered the role, with proven significant expertise, high achievement, and specialized skills.
