Job Description Summary

Come join the Sourcing Lean, Process & Digital Operations team that is changing the way we do Procurement at GE Aerospace! This team will be at the core of driving continued organizational transformation to improve outcomes for our employees, customers, and shareholders. The organization is structured around three areas of focus, integrating select existing teams to streamline our approach:

  1. LEAN ... Advancing our Lean journey with FLIGHT DECK capability development, coaching, operating cadences, and centralized Kaizen Roadmaps.

  2. PROCESS ... End-to-end sourcing Value Stream Mapping (VSM) ownership in both commercial (Inquiry to Order) and delivery (Order to Remit) spaces, linking to broader Aerospace VSM and envisioned future of Connected Flow Supply Chain.

  3. DIGITAL ... Capability development to support process, data quality & governance, ownership of our suite of digital tools & systems, and leading a digital transformation path with a focus on Cloud technologies and AI.

This is a lean leader role embedded inside the Lean, Process & Digital team helping to drive the Lean vision above. The role will be embedded into the business working under the Value Stream leader and partnering with peers on process & digital to execute the transformation by creating customer value and in turn driving business performance. In this role you will have shared accountability for business results by execution of items on the Kaizen Roadmap, identifying process improvement needs, being an extension of the process team as a hands-on business partner helping lead operating cadence (daily management, operating reviews, etc.), problem solving, kaizen and other fundamentals of FLIGHT DECK.

This role is based out of our Evendale, OH Sourcing HQ, but is eligible for a hybrid working schedule.

Job Description

In the role of Sourcing Lean Leader at GE Aerospace, you will be a pivotal force in integrating and advancing our FLIGHT DECK lean operating model within the sourcing function. Your expertise will drive operational excellence, ensuring our sourcing operations are aligned with the core principles of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC), with an unwavering focus on safety.

  • Lean Leadership and Culture : Champion the FLIGHT DECK lean operating model, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, respect for people, and servant leadership across sourcing operations.

  • Strategic Lean Implementation : Define and manage the implementation of lean standards and processes, ensuring seamless integration of FLIGHT DECK principles in both transactional and operational aspects.

  • Operational Excellence : Drive operational excellence by utilizing lean tools and methodologies to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics, directly impacting customer value and business performance.

  • Change Management and Coaching : Utilize exceptional change management skills to lead transformation efforts, coaching and mentoring teams and leadership in lean principles and problem-solving methodologies.

  • Kaizen and Continuous Improvement : Lead and facilitate kaizen events, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence through hands-on engagement and coaching.

  • Lean Strategy and Training : Continuously develop the lean strategy within the sourcing function, aligning with FLIGHT DECK principles. Execute comprehensive lean training programs to enhance team capabilities.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work across the organizational matrix to align strategy and vision with business process improvements, ensuring sourcing operations contribute effectively to overall business goals.

  • Performance Metrics and Improvement : Define, track, and report on KPIs and/or TTIs, driving measurable improvements within sourcing operations.

  • Demand Flow and Lean Tools : Act as a change agent in implementing demand flow and utilizing lean tools to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce waste.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Effectively interface with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring technology and processes are positioned for success, aligning with GE Aerospace's strategic objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of Supply Chain / Manufacturing experience)

  • Minimum of 5 years of Supply Chain / Manufacturing experience

  • 3+ years of experience in teaching, coaching, practicing, and applying lean methods (i.e. VSM, Cell design, 3P, TPM, 5S, kaizen, standard work, leader standard work, problem solving, Kanban and lean transformations)
