Job Description Summary

Electrical Engineer for Production Engine Test Operations (PETO). The Electrical Engineer is responsible for all electrical systems integrated with and supporting testing of engines within the test cells. This person is responsible for contributing to successful achievement of the team’s key performance indicators across safety, quality, delivery, and cost through utilization of individual and team principles of Flight Deck.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Electrical Engineer for Production Engine Test Operations (PETO) which focuses test efforts on all the Aeroderivative products within the GE Aerospace portfolio. A person in this role manages and oversees all electrical systems integrated with and supporting testing of engines within the cell.

  • Utilizes the fundamentals of Flight Deck to detect issues, prevent issues, and optimize performance of electrical systems to enable the test team to execute within the process and unlock value for our customers. Responsible for contributing to successful achievement of the teams key performance indicators across safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Responsible for driving prevention of issues and driving improvements to all operational issues that are categorized into “controls” and “facilities electrical” buckets within the delivery pareto.

  • Responsible for all electrical test enabling and facility systems; large electrical systems, small electrical systems, controls, PLC’s, and software across all test cells. These systems include, but are not limited to, the Mk6e, Mk6, Cimplicity, Allan Bradley, HBK, Bentley Nevada, foretran code, hpunix code, PME, Rx3i, Genius exchange, VFD’s, and gas detector systems.

  • Interfaces and coordinates with organizations that support PETO to prevent/correct problems and to create future relationships for sharing lessons learned; test facilities infrastructure and engineering (TFIE), test enabling hardware (TEH), maintenance (PETO Maintenance), facilities, controls engineering, systems engineering, eval engineering, and development engine test operations (DETO).

  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute department policy/strategy.

  • Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues. Leads projects in the department to improve various electrical test enabling/facility systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at minimum 4 years of experience in manages and oversees all electrical systems integrated with and supporting testing of engines within the cell ). + Minimum 3 years of experience in manages and oversees all electrical systems integrated with and supporting testing of engines within the cell
