The Sr. Manager of Build and Release will be a cross program leader for all GE Edison Works secure programs. As a member of the EW DT leadership team, they will be responsible for leading a technical team of build and release engineers that integrate future and current generation full stack technical solutions into classified production environments. This position will lead the team responsible for deploying technical solutions for future and current generation technology within current environments. You will help harmonize tech stacks across programs which are full stack solutions that may include, but not limited to, networking, compute, storage, backup, platforms, productivity and security tools, automation, cloud, and engineering and supply chain applications.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of build and release engineers, ensuring they have the appropriate training, tools and experience to be successful in a complex DT ecosystem implementing current and next generation of DT technology.

  • Collaborate and assist with business, functional, and technical partners across GE businesses and technology leadership in defining, designing, building and implementing technical solutions for next generation full stack products within Collateral and AP environments.

  • Define robust processes for requirements interpretation, intake, validation, prioritization, execution and backlogging for current and future full stack technology deployments within the environments. Partner across the organization to incorporate team processes into broader enterprise processes.

  • Lead a team to provide technical assistance and troubleshooting in partnership with Operations, Digital Compliance, System Engineering, Architecture, Information Assurance, and other teams as needed.

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of future and current full stack technology retrofits to current generation deployed technology in line with business needs.

  • Assist in defining standards, procedures and processes for builds, team handoffs, technical documentation, operational support and standard work to standardize next generation products within the environments. Identify metrics and KPIs that align to high level business goals and strategies for the team.

  • Organize technical teams comprising from internal and external technical and functional experts based on budget, scope, timeline, and business impact.

  • Manage technical scope implementation and other non-standard events throughout the life of the project, and stakeholder progress reporting at various levels of the organization including leadership and executives.

  • Manage day-to-day execution of multiple interdependent projects by working directly with cross functional team and/or performing hands on technical execution when needed.

  • Participate as a leader on the CIOs extended staff and potentially taking on special enterprise wide projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 6 years of professional experience OR Associates degree with minimum of 9 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 11 years of professional experience

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Information Technology

Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience designing, implementing, and owning a full stack on premise technology solution (e.g. networking, firewalls, compute, automation and applications) within classified spaces

  • Able to hold and maintain active US DOD "Secret" Security Clearance ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS with “Top Secret” preferred:

  • This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens.
