Job Title: Industrial Cleaner

Job Description

The Industrial Cleaner is responsible for the general cleaning and upkeep of equipment and production areas, including painting. The role also involves performing any additional tasks as deemed necessary by the Production Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a forklift.

  • Collect all trash hoppers in and around the facility twice a day and dispose of trash properly.

  • Run floor cleaner as needed.

  • Mop, sweep, and clean floors, walls, and equipment.

  • Inspect the exterior grounds weekly for litter, appearance, hazards, and notify appropriate personnel if necessary.

  • Paint as needed (walkways, railings, floors, 7S items, etc.).

  • Monitor and empty dust collectors.

  • Replace receptacles for recycling when full and stage full receptacles in the appropriate area.

  • Maintain oil/materials catch cans (Uhlhorn - mixers 12 and 16; Grove - All drum goods mixers).

  • Stock shelves at mixer stations (gloves, dust masks, tape, etc.).

  • Clean returnable drum plates as needed.

Essential Skills

  • 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing cleaning, sanitation, and general labor.

  • Forklift operation skills.

  • Experience in chemical handling, blending, loading, and sanitizing.

  • Ability to pass an audiogram test.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent.

  • Prior industrial cleaning or housekeeping experience.

  • Prior mixing and batching experience.

  • Chemical manufacturing experience.

  • Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, essential functions test, and respirator fit test.

Work Environment

This role is based in a chemical plant, primarily involved in automotive material production. The work environment includes exposure to moving equipment, noise, fumes, vibrations, and dust. The facility is climate-controlled. Work requires standing for 8-10 hours shifts, frequently walking, climbing ladders and stairs, and moving on and off a forklift throughout the shift. Shifts are available across three schedules: 1st shift (7:00am – 3:30pm, Monday – Friday), 2nd shift (3:00pm – 11:30pm, Monday – Friday), and 3rd shift (11:00pm – 7:30am, Sunday – Thursday). Weekend work may be required based on business needs, and overtime opportunities are available. PPE such as steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, respirators, gloves, and earbuds are provided.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Evansville, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00
