Facility Security Officer (FSO)
Location: Lexington, Massachusetts
Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen and have a current Top Secret clearance
Job Description:The Facility Security Officer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a security program that complies with the NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117) and other regulations, and partnering with cognizant security authorities, senior management, and personnel. The FSO provides support for all security actions in accordance with corporate and governmental policies and directives. The position requires a self-motivated candidate that is capable of working in an independent or team environment with minimal direction. The FSO will be required to conduct security self-inspections, apply risk mitigation methodologies, support customer assessments, and implement security measures to ensure compliance with DoD safeguarding policies. The FSO must possess the confidence to make critical security decisions concerning high value contracts and to implement security procedures that will prevent unauthorized access to company and government facilities or information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer day-to-day security programs: personnel processing, program reviews, document control system, audits and self-inspections, violation investigations and reports, receipt/dispatch/destruction, visit certs, briefings and debriefs, etc.
- Daily use of personnel clearance data systems - DISS, NBIS, and other security software in the performance of assigned duties
- Prepare, issue and maintain DD254s
- Maintain classified materials receipt, logging, control, and dissemination
- Maintain accountability of classified government-furnished information and equipment
- Participate in and perform inspections and audits
- Maintain certification and accreditation of the facilities eligibility as well as personnel
- Create and update security plans, procedures, and instructions
- Develop and administer a comprehensive security education training program
- Maintain and coordinate excellent working relationships with government agencies
- Assure compliance with all government and company security regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills:
- Experience as a Facility Security Officer (FSO)
- Thorough working knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117 - NISPOM and other relevant DoD security guidance
- Thorough understanding of security databases such as DISS, NBIS, NISS, SWFT, eAPP
- Proficient with Microsoft applications
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

Education/Experience Required:
- This position requires a BA or BS degree and at least 5 years of experience in the U.S. Government, DoD, Intelligence, or Industrial Security, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
