The Office of Advising and Student Experience is a fast-paced, customer-focused office that serves over 4,600 undergraduate pre-business, business, and accounting majors and minors, in addition to 200+ graduate students. This person will be a member of a student services team that has a longstanding reputation for providing excellence in student services. The successful candidate will share in the commitment to meet the needs of students through innovative, high-quality, and efficient delivery of advising services. This position requires a strong commitment to serving the needs of students and working collaboratively in a collegial, supportive environment.

Position Summary

The Technology Lab Manager and Trainer within the Lundquist Office of Advising and Student Experience plays a crucial role in strengthening the Professional Edge program. This involves creating and delivering advanced technical training, overseeing the computer lab, and ensuring that our programs stay abreast of emerging business technology trends. This position requires a forward-thinking approach to crafting curricula, managing lab resources, and conducting industry research, all with the goal of equipping students with both fundamental and specialized technical skills essential for the contemporary job market.

The successful candidate will be tasked with developing innovative training programs, overseeing lab resources, and collaborating with key stakeholders to advocate for and enhance our offerings. Additionally, this role will oversee a team of student employees who will be assisting with the delivery of training sessions, lab operations, and space management. This role may also assist with the oversight and management of other labs in the college as needed.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, Education, or a related field.

• Two years of experience in developing and leading technical trainings.

• Proficient understanding of current technology trends, software, and business needs.

• Exceptional communication and engagement skills.

• Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

• Strong organizational and project management skills, with a track record of managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.

• Commitment to continuous learning, innovation, and professional development.

• Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in managing educational or research-focused computer lab environments.

• Experience working in a higher education setting, particularly within a business college.
