We are looking for a full-time housekeeper to manage housekeeping duties at assigned ShelterCare properties. What you can expect from ShelterCare:

    ShelterCare is a non-profit that believes in "housing first", we meet people where they are. As a Housekeeper, y ou will coordinate with maintenance and program management as needed. You will clean and tidy common areas of assigned properties: Dust and polish various surfaces and furniture; vacuum, sweep, and mop floors; empty trash bins; etc. You will also clean and tidy assigned rooms between occupancy of assigned properties: Dust and polish various surfaces and furniture; vacuum, sweep, and mop floors; empty trash bins; change linens and towels, and replace toiletries as appropriate; clean appliances available in the unit; etc This position will be cleaning up housing units that may contain bio-hazard material such as fecal matter. You will also effectively track hours spent at different locations and report on completed duties as needed.

    This is a full-time non-exempt position that will report to the Short-Term Housing Program Manager. The starting wage for this role is $16.44-$16.89 per hour, depending on a number of factors including experience. This position is eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance.

    What you bring to ShelterCare:

    Required

  • Effective communication, scheduling, and time management

  • Excellent working knowledge of cleaning appliances and their operations and proper use of cleaning agents

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to successfully pass a DHS background check

  • The person in this position must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry a minimum weight of approximately 25 lbs, ability to stand for long periods of time, ability to kneel, bend, crawl, squat and crouch, ability to work in confined spaces, and the ability to tolerate exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals with our without reasonable accommodation

    Preferred:

  • Previous experience working with people in active addiction and/or severe and persistent mental illness.
