The Hertz Corporation Security Guard Supervisor in Estero, Florida

A Day in the Life:

This position will be the first line supervisor for the Security Guard force in Estero, FL and will report directly to the Director, Physical Security in the Safety and Security Department.

The salary for this opportunity is $52,000/yr.

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as the first line supervisor and corporate leader for the Security Guard force.

  • Establish Standard Operating Procedures for the Security Guard Force; Supervise and coordinate the activities of security guards to ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.

  • Create security guard roster to ensure proper coverage; Manage payroll for the hourly guard force

  • Conduct regular inspections of the premises to identify and address safety and security risks.

  • Train and mentor security staff, providing guidance on best practices and emergency procedures.

  • Monitor security systems, including surveillance cameras and alarms, to detect and respond to suspicious activities.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of security incidents and activities.

  • Manage the new employee and visitor reception process, Issue Employee Badges and Parking Decals

  • Assist Director, Physical Security with Emergency Action Preparedness, including but not limited to Fire, Active Shooter, Workplace Violence, Natural Disasters, etc.

  • Assist with Recruitment and Training of volunteer Sector Wardens

  • Work closely with Director, Physical Security, HR, Compliance and Legal concerning internal theft investigations and other employee complaints.

  • Assist with Executive Protection

  • Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.

  • Fill-in, as required, to support Security Guard Operations

  • 24/7 Availability in support of crisis or other emergencies

  • Other Duties as Assigned

What We’re Looking For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional law enforcement security training or certifications preferred.

  • Proven experience as a security guard or in a similar supervisory role; law enforcement or military background strongly preferred

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in emergency situations.

  • Proficiency in using security equipment and technology.

  • Possess computer skills and the ability to learn new applications quickly

  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time

  • Capability to lift and carry up to 50lbs, if necessary

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • OSHA 10 (or higher) Certification a plus
