Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries Fab 9 is seeking to fill the role of Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) Process Engineer. The engineer will manage a variety of tasks and projects for both sustaining and improving, yield, cost, and on-time delivery consistent with the Fab 9 business objectives. A strong candidate will have experience maintaining manufacturing-scale quality using statistical process controls (SPC) and tool-based signals in a fast-paced environment. Some of the areas that are expected to be supported are the following:

Create, analyze and review technical charts

Develop and modify process formulations, methods and controls to meet quality standards

Establish SOP (Standard operating process) and FMEA (Failure mode and effects analysis) for related process

Review product development requirements for compatibility with processing methods to determine costs and schedules

Integrates equipment and material capabilities to meet process module and technology specifications

Drive CIP (Continuous improvement plans) to improve process performance indices

Work with cross functions teams to deliver organizational goals and perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements

Work and collaborate other projects and/or assignments as needed

  • Plan and execute continuous improvement projects to increase yield, productivity and cost effectiveness (including rework improvement)

{=html} <!-- --> - Mentor and train technicians on shift in order to support quality and delivery metrics for 24x7 fab operations

{=html} <!-- --> - Execute strategic projects for improvement of sustaining of operations through monitoring of statistical process control (SPC) charts and disposition of out of spec material.

{=html} <!-- --> - Drive process improvements for high volume manufacturing using statistical tools, DOE (design of experiments) techniques, data driven decision making and systematic problem-solving skills.

{=html} <!-- --> - Support the process; planning and quality organizations to ensure the equipment meet the cost, quality and reliability metrics.

{=html} <!-- --> - Drive new technology insertion and improve process robustness by providing technical solutions for process related yield problems.

{=html} <!-- --> - Achieve customer on-time delivery and cycle time commitments through tool qualification and runpath management with manufacturing operations.

{=html} <!-- --> - Use Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to assess and mitigate risk for process changes.

{=html} <!-- --> - Lead troubleshooting task forces and help develop solutions that prevent recurrence for excursion incidents (using such methods as 8D).

{=html} <!-- --> - Drive process and techno ogy transfer from customers and other GlobalFoundries fabs to Fab9 and well and new technology development for 14nm and beyond

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics or other relevant engineering physical science discipline is required
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years or relatable experience
  • Fluency in English Language written & verbal

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing and/or other chemical vapor deposition applications
