Summary of Role:

GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fab 9 is seeking a highly skilled and motivated engineer with strong communication skills to become part of our fab team in Essex Junction, NY. The engineer will be part of our growing Manufacturing Quality Assurance team, working closely with internal module engineering partners to ensure effective utilization and adherence to quality systems such as, Material Review Board (MRB) and ensuring outgoing quality meets our internal and customer specifications. This is an on-site position.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the overall Non-Conforming Materials business process owner and/or Co-owner, facilitating the efficiency and effectives of the business process from wafer containment, disposition, and customer requirements/communication needs as appropriate to prevent any MRB escapes. Accurately document minutes and update the MRB system with aligned shippable actions

  • Facilitate the daily meeting such as all critical quorum voices and technical expertise are heard. Relying and supporting risk assessments to guide data collection and coordinate developing the disposition plans with the case owner.

  • Ensuring proper management review of the process is adhered to and judge the case complexity, impact (OTD, Customer impacts, revenue impacts) and elevate the discussion as necessary to the proper management level such as MRB+ and/or GM approval.

  • Provide oversight and guidance of MRB process ensuring classifications, pending actions and reviews are up to date to avoid delay of shipment. Ensure proper case classification, containment, documentation, and disposition are being done per SOP. Raising large case containments, post fab containments, and releasing material once cases are approved per MRB business owners.

  • Partner and Lead the MRB team to support the MRB process ensuring MRB agenda submission, scrap tracker management, and have proper evidence for MRB closure.

  • Provide support with Near Miss Themes analysis and provide MRB actual exposure counts for wafer Jeopardy analysis.

  • Coordinate technical resolution of documented non-conformances through interaction with modules, PI, YE and Reliability and any other necessary stakeholders, keeping a focus on OTD needs.

  • Update and track MRB Fab quality indices for management review. MS Power BI experience is an added benefit to help with dashboard building and tracking.

  • Serve as the Fab 9 representative and partner with the global quality MRB teams to ensure we strive for ONEGF policy, practices, and principals

  • Support and lead global quality initiatives on business process and system improvements

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, Semiconductor Manufacturing or a related discipline.

  • Experience – 5+ years of relevant work experience required.

  • Strong communication skills and an ability to interact with senior leaders on a regular basis

  • Competent in Microsoft Applications and willingness to support end to end process

  • Must be able to work per semiconductor industry and GLOBALFOUNDRIES protocol/requirements, wearing all required clean room protective clothing and equipment

  • Must have permanent right to work in the US without sponsorship

  • Language Fluency – English (Written & Verbal)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Science, engineering, Semiconductor or a related disciple

  • Experience – 5+ years of semiconductor experience in a module, yield, integration, reliability or other related roles.

  • Experience with multi and cross functional environments.

  • Demonstrated experience in coaching and facilitating structured problem solving.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading small teams

  • Knowledge of device physics and/or microelectronics

  • Knowledge of ISO9000/QS9000/TS16949 is an added advantage.

Expected Salary Range

$91,600.00 - $170,000.00
