Job description

Job Summary:

Upper Peninsula Concrete Pipe Company is seeking a dedicated Quality Control Engineer who will also serve as the Safety Coordinator at our precast concrete plant and ready-mix concrete plant. This dual role is essential for ensuring the highest quality standards in our products while maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes in compliance with industry standards.

· Conduct regular inspections and audits of raw materials, production processes, and finished products.

· Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues.

· Train and mentor staff on quality control procedures and best practices.

· Ensure compliance with PCI standards; Possess or obtain PCI certification within 90 days of hire.

· Monitor and enforce safety policies and procedures in the plant.

· Conduct safety training sessions and promote a culture of safety awareness.

· Investigate accidents and incidents, preparing reports and recommending corrective actions.

· Maintain accurate records of quality control and safety activities.

· Product certification for government agencies including MDOT, WDOT, USDOT

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

· Preferred but not required at least 3 years of experience in quality control management in a manufacturing or construction environment.

· PCI-Certification Preferred but not required

· Previous experience in safety coordination or management is a plus.

· Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

· Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

· Must be detail-oriented and organized.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $1,000.00 - $1,700.00 per week
