Responsibilities:

  • Patient flow management involves checking schedules and organizing patient flow, accompanying patients to exam and procedure rooms while assisting with walking, transfers, and dressing as needed.

  • Patient preparation includes collecting patient information and medical history, taking vitals, and performing screenings per provider guidelines to ensure readiness for exams.

  • Infection control requires preparing and cleaning exam and procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits to maintain strict infection control protocols.

  • Medical records compliance entails sending and receiving patient medical records in accordance with HIPAA and state regulations, ensuring confidentiality and proper documentation.

  • Clinical procedures involve performing phlebotomy, EKGs, and level one labs, assisting physicians with procedures, and accurately documenting patient information in medical records.

  • Front office coordination includes answering calls, providing patient education, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and managing patient charts to ensure complete and accurate filing.

  • Inventory management consists of overseeing the inventory of medical supplies and restocking exam and procedure rooms as needed, while maintaining appropriate records for compliance.

  • Medication administration, under physician supervision, involves administering injectable medications and vaccines, adhering to all relevant policies and regulatory agency requirements, such as OSHA and CLIA.

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities.

Preferred:

  • Medical Assistant experience

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

Act 31 Mandated Reporter Training within 90 days of hire or transfer

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

  • Act 33 with renewal

  • Act 34 with renewal

  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
