WorkSource Oregon 911 Communications Basic Technician I in ENTERPRISE, Oregon

911 Communications Basic Technician I is the first contact for citizens who need immediate assistance from police, fire, or emergency medical agencies. Work involves responsibility for receiving calls for assistance, prioritizing those calls, and dispatching using the appropriate procedures. The work also requires ongoing communications support for field units of the public safety agencies. Must have a high school diploma/GED and one-year general clerical experience. Ability to take calls for emergency service. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multitask: to receive information and to distribute that information to the appropriate service responder at the same time. Ability to work independently, without immediate supervision. Ability to work with highly sensitive information and maintain confidentiality. Must pass criminal history check and job-related testing which includes split ear listening skills.
