Charter Communications/Spectrum Network Engineer II - Data Center Inventory Management in Englewood, Colorado

The Network Engineer II for Data Center Inventory Management will have the opportunity to work in a 25,000 sq ft state of the art data center. Work with industry leading edge technology with the ability to learn working with high level engineers and design teams for software developers, hardware developers and new innovative technologies.

BE PART OF THE CONNECTION Under general supervision, assists in the planning, forecasting, evaluation, and reports results of products submitted for qualification. Responsible for development, enhancement and implementation of test methods/processes. Responsible for initiating, coordinating testing with other teams, tracking and completing documentation of assigned projects.

This role involves configuring, monitoring, and optimizing software tools that track and manage hardware and equipment inventory. The administrator ensures system reliability, handles software updates and integrations, and provides technical support to users. They will also be responsible for maintaining security protocols, generating performance reports, and coordinating with other IT teams to enhance inventory management processes and support data center operations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a background in data center operations, and experience with inventory management systems.

WHAT OUR NETWORK ENGINEERS ENJOY MOST Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) software to ensure accurate inventory tracking and monitoring. Administer user access, permissions, and roles within the management software to ensure appropriate levels of access and security. Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes for reference and compliance purposes. Plan and execute software updates, patches, and upgrades to maintain current versions and enhance system capabilities. Utilize DCIM software to manage and update inventory records, including hardware, equipment, and network components. Develop and implement best practices for using DCIM software to enhance inventory management efficiency and accuracy. Provide training and support to team members on DCIM software functionality and inventory management procedures. Ensure that inventory management practices comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience. Participates in evaluation planning, design and engineering of lab enhancements. Integrates communication industry architectures, topologies, hardware and software into complete network configurations. Evaluates new products, makes recommendations for improvement. Assists in the development and documentation of technical standards. Implements approved methods of procedure. Works on projects/systems/issues of medium to high complexity surrounding CATV planning, configuration and optimization. Provides support across organizations. Works on one or more projects as a project team member, occasionally as a project team lead. Adheres to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable. WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM Required Qualifications Experience: Data network experience - 3+ years Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience Skills:

Demonstrated data networking knowledge (OSI Model, TCP/IP, Optical Transport) Demonstrated knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Fiber (Multimode, Single mode, UTP, etc.), Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet and Transport technologies and protocols Demonstrated knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology Demonstrated knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations. Demonstrated knowledge of basic network devices and basic network appliances Demonstrated knowledge of network designing software, such as Visio Knowledge of Microsoft Office Abilities:
