Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Englewood, Colorado

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in Englewood, Colorado. This role is in the telecom industry and the workplace is a dynamic environment where you'll be tasked with responsibilities that include sorting mail, preparing vendor invoices, entering key data fields, and resolving invoice discrepancies.

Responsibilities:

• Sort mail by company and invoice type using attributes such as post office box number, invoice features, purchase order number, and ship-to locations.

• Distinguish between different types of documents received in the mail such as invoices, acknowledgements, sales orders, statements, etc., and route according to guidelines.

• Prepare vendor invoices for imaging and scan them into the document imaging system.

• Perform quality checks on invoice images and re-scan if needed.

• Identify and handle duplicate invoices according to instructions.

• Verify the accuracy and completeness of your work.

• Identify invoices with discrepancies and correct them as per instructions.

• Monitor workflow queues and route invoices for resolution.

• Interface with vendors and internal customers to research and resolve problems.

• Process check payment runs as per established schedules and handle emergency check requirements.

• Review vendor statements for aged items and reconcile them with deliveries.

• Coordinate analysis findings with issue resolution team.

• Process non-inventory invoices and assist with GL coding.

This role requires skills in entering invoices, bill payment, vendor contacts, and vendor management. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk

• Proficiency in entering invoices is required

• Experience in bill payment is necessary

• Ability to manage vendor contacts effectively

• Demonstrated skills in vendor management

• Strong understanding of accounting principles

• Proficiency in using accounting software

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Detail-oriented and accuracy in performing tasks

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
