NBC Universal Senior Staff SAP BASIS Administrator in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey

As the Senior Staff SAP BASIS Administrator, you will provide leadership for SAP BASIS activities, including oversight and accountability for delivery of services for ongoing projects and SRE operations.

This role will be heavily engaged in NBC Universal Project Keystone. Keystone is a multi year program to transform NBCU's existing Finance systems to SAP S/4.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelors, Masters or higher degree in Computer Science or Information Systems from an accredited institution or equivalent

  • 12+ years of SAP BASIS work experience

  • Experience working with services on SAP RISE and SAP ECS

  • Previously worked on at least 5 multi-country SAP project implementations of high complexity, at large scale and with a global user base

  • Hands-on, in-depth SAP BASIS knowledge

  • Demonstrated SAP & SAP HANA on AWS public cloud experience required;

  • Ability to work collaboratively across project teams

  • Ability to work flexible hours based on varying business requirements

  • Understanding the nature of OLTP and OLAP systems, including specific roles of SAP SOH & S/4 HANA, BW, PO, Solution Management, SLT, Gateway, Enterprise Portal

  • Understanding the SAP application architecture, SAP NetWeaver technology (ABAP and Java),  work-process roles, ICM, IDOCs, BAPIs, RFCs, Logon Load Balancing, Sap router configuration and setup

  • Deployment approach and strategies for SAP GUI, EPM add-on, Analysis for Office (AOE), SAP HANA Studio

  • Experience with Fiori and other advanced SAP stacks;

  • Good understanding of best SAP practices, archiving, system copies, single-sign-on, encryption, SAP SNC

  • Integrating and operating 3rd party applications required for change management process, monitoring, troubleshooting

  • Installing, monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting SAP applications and SAP HANA Databases

  • Following protocols and standards specific to SAP large scale implementation;

  • Experience working with SAP support on troubleshooting various issues, understanding the nature of the problem, raising OSS incidents, and providing necessary support to SAP analyst to investigate problems.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Familiar with SAP HANA and other database systems: understanding backups, restores, and other database operations: index rebuilds, segment statistics collection, table partitioning, cost based optimizer, SQL tracing, locks, deadlocks, high-availability solutions. SAP MaxDB knowledge is a plus;

  • Familiar with Linux operating systems, networking and infrastructure concepts that are related to SAP environments: OS commands, OS account administration, disk and volume management, file system concepts, LANS, WANS, Routers, DNS, VPN, NAT, TCP/IP protocols, etc.;

  • Familiar with AWS concepts (cloud, zones, network load balancers, application load balancers, file-system solutions, etc.);

  • Understanding the SAP HANA technology, detailed understanding of in-memory computing, backups and restores, BACKINT, SAP HANA Cockpit and SAP HANA Studio, HANA Replication Services solutions;

  • Understanding high-availability, disaster-recovery concepts and SAP technology surrounding those scenarios;

  • System landscape configurations and operations: administrating Sap applications: starting/stopping SAP instances, printer management, Sap security operations, monitoring the Sap system for health and performance issues, background jobs management operations, transport management system, Sap kernel updates, SAP application upgrades, implementing Sap OSS notes, applying SAP add-ons and support packages, application tuning;

  • Expertise in IT & business controllership requirements

  • Expertise in SAP security integration and controls

  • Expertise on multiple SAP systems including SOH, S/4, BW, Solution Manager

  • Demonstrate excellent verbal/presentation and written communication skills

  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills to engage with all levels of Business and IT

  • Self-starter able to work on multiple projects simultaneously with a keen desire to learn and expand depth of knowledge

  • Demonstrable collaboration and teamwork skills

  • Strong adherence to IT/SAP project methodologies, and change control processes

  • Experience using integration tools:

  • SAP BTP and SAP Cloud Connector

  • Gentran Integration Suite™ (GIS) / Sterling Integrator

  • Tibco

  • Informatica

  • SAP Process Integration (SAP PI)

  • Knowledge of Redwood job scheduling is highly desired.

  • Experience with Worksoft, uPerfrom and HP ALM.

Salary range: $140,000 - $180,000 (bonus eligible)
