Senior Staff Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general ledger postings, financial statement reviews, and tax preparation. This role involves a variety of accounting tasks, including reconciliation of invoices, preparation of material recovery statements, and involvement in yearly compliance requirements such as audits. You will also play a key role in implementing new technologies and managing business insurance renewals.

Responsibilities

• Post and review general ledger entries.

• Reconcile invoices, including researching and resolving discrepancies.

• Conduct monthly financial statement reviews and prepare MD&A.

• Prepare, analyze, and communicate material recovery statements.

• Expand the sites included in the MRF package to other locations.

• Prepare for and be directly involved in yearly compliance requirements, including audit and review engagements with outside auditors.

• Conduct periodic sales tax and property tax audits.

• Prepare and submit off-road fuel tax documentation.

• Set up and implement new technologies.

• Prepare supporting files and documents for business insurance renewals.

• Handle miscellaneous projects as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Experience with general ledger, including entries, chart of accounts, and accounts reconciliations.

• Ability to analyze and reconcile financial data.

• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Effective time management and stress management skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Accounts payable experience preferred.

• Experience working with ERP systems.

• Attention to detail and high accuracy.

Work Environment

You will be working in a beautiful, newly renovated office building.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $95000.00
