BeiGene Director, HR Operations Americas in Emeryville, California

Reporting into the Vice President, Global Operations, the Director, HR Operations for the Americas, serves as the operations lead for the Americas region (North & South America). This role is responsible for all processes which drive the employee lifecycle, from onboarding through offboarding. Working with the Americas HR Operations and HRIS teams, this role provides the strategic and technical expertise in the design and build out of ongoing enhancements and process improvements related to the employee lifecycle. This role is critical to the management of people processes and data and ensures that employee records are accurately and efficiently compiled, reviewed, analyzed, submitted and secured in Workday and related downstream systems.

In addition, the Director, HR Operations, requires a high level of collaboration with the broader HR team by supporting Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Total Rewards, HR Business Partner activities and the regional Operations teams in APAC and Europe, as well as partnering with cross functional teams such as IT, Finance, and Legal.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Manages the build out of necessary processes to support the expansion of new countries in Latin America, ensuring high quality and efficient employee lifecycle management

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of the function and the development of team members

  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of HR processes and procedures, from onboarding through offboarding

  • Ensures employee data in Workday and related payroll systems is up to date and accurate

  • Recommends and implements new end to end processes when necessary

  • In collaboration with HRIS team, maintains, reviews, and tests HR technology system updates and enhancements

  • Participates in the design of new Workday modules and enhancements.

  • Works with team members to assure that all forms of Audit requests are handled in a timely manner

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manage Americas HR Operations team (3 direct reports), supporting multiple countries

Minimum Experience, Knowledge, Skills Required:

  • 10+ years HR Operations experience

  • Strong working knowledge and experience using Workday

  • Ability to build collaborative, trustworthy relationships across functions and geographies

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills

  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision

  • Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel

  • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, able to shift directions quickly when priorities change

  • Ability to think through problems and come up with innovative solutions and deliver against very tight deadlines

  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and entrepreneurial environment and versatility to manage multiple projects, priorities and urgent issues successfully and simultaneously

  • Must be detail-oriented, analytical and have a systems thinking approach to problem solving, understanding how things affect one another in an overall system

Education Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
