Overview

Singer Equipment Company is looking for a Driver Supervisor in Elverson, PA to oversee all aspects of our delivery operation including the effective utilization of drivers, coordinating equipment maintenance, DOT recordkeeping, on time delivery schedule attainment and processing returns.

Responsibilities

• Daily supervision and management of drivers

• Ensure compliance with company policy and state and federal regulations and maintain appropriate and accurate documentation of the same, including but not limited to driver compliance for random drug screening, certification of violations/MVR, and annual medical reviews

• Address driver concerns as they arise and report issues to management and HR as needed

• Ensure accuracy of Driver logs/e-logs in accordance with DOT regulations

• Coordinate with drivers to facilitate delivery within time window parameters

• Notification of sales staff/customer service/routing for delivery issues

• Remain in close contact with all drivers, on a daily basis, to ensure completion of all trips in an efficient manner, keeping customer service/sales informed of any service issues that occur during the course of trip activities

• Completion of daily trip hours and mileage reports and totals from the daily dispatch log

• Organize/file returning driver invoice paperwork

• Coordination of various fleet operation activities, including:

• Cleanliness of vehicles/cabs

• Checking vehicles & equipment for damage or loss

• Ensuring all equipment sent with trip is returned

• Maintain open communication with all drivers and Routing Supervisor

• File truck maintenance paperwork including mileage reports and service issues

• Coordinate with leasing agency to resolve any maintenance and/or breakdown issues

• Coordinate with insurance agency to obtain accurate up to date registration/insurance information

• Compile odometer readings from all vehicles for Ryder and Penske, on a monthly basis

Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Skills and Abilities

• 3+ years of experience supervising in a fast-paced distribution/warehouse setting

• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication including excellent oral and written communication skills and taking the initiative to actively communicate information in an appropriate manner

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite with emphasis on Excel

• Excellent time-management and organizational skills and the ability to accurately complete tasks and reports on a timely basis

• Must be detail oriented

• Able to work independently

• 3+ years recent relevant experience in warehousing, distribution, inventory control or transportation

• Recent prior experience supervising front-line staff in a fast-paced service environment

• Supervision in a union environment a plus

• High School Diploma or equivalent
