LPN Wanted for Certified Home Health Aide (HHA) Internship/Clinical Instructor Role at Elmont Career Center: $35-$40 per hour Elmont Career Center is currently seeking dedicated Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our esteemed team as HHA Internship or Clinical Instructors. This vital role is perfect for compassionate Licensed Practical Nurses who are eager to guide adults embarking on a journey to become Home Health Aides (HHA). Our instructors play a crucial role in shaping the future of healthcare by imparting knowledge, skills, and the confidence to excel in a nursing career. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive in-house orientation to familiarize yourself with the facility's layout, ensuring preparedness in emergency situations. Educate about and enforce the facility's regulations to maintain a safe and compliant environment. Ensure all students possess the necessary documentation required by the internship facility before the clinical dates. Maintenance of official student records, including attendance rosters, sign-in sheets, and quiz and final grade sheets. Provide constant supervision to students during their internship, ensuring a supportive learning environment. Facilitate pre- and post-conference sessions with students to discuss facility rules, regulations, assess understanding, and to address any questions or concerns. Observe and support students during their hands-on practice, offering constructive feedback and encouragement. Ideal Candidate: Licensed Practical Nurse with a current NYS license and a passion for teaching. Valid BPSS teaching license preferred, if you do not have one, you must obtain one within 2 weeks before being hired. We will guide you through this process. Active NYS BPSS teaching License A minimum of 3 years of full-time practical experience as an RN, preferably with some teaching or mentoring roles. CPR certification Proficiency in English and Creole Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated knowledge and competency in the subject area. Strong commitment to excellence in education and student success. A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of aspiring HHAs. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions and feedback. A proactive approach to ensuring student safety, compliance, and understanding of clinical practices.
