Chemung Canal Trust Company Financial Consultant - Tompkins Cortland Cayuga in Elmira, New York

Responsible for the development, implementation and coordination of the Investment Services/Insurance functions in cooperation with applicable business units.

  • Reviews and understands investment options available through third party providers, including but not limited to mutual funds and insurance products.

  • Provides assistance to existing and future clients with regard to statements, account reviews and various investment options/insurance products.

  • Executes trades for stock, funds and insurance in compliance with applicable regulations and NYS insurance law.

  • Prepares, processes, and reviews various documents and prospectus for all services provided by CFS Group, Inc. Ensures that all client files are updated with most current client information and documents and compliant with regulations and policies.

  • Compiles and reports necessary sales and referral information for Program Manager review and ensures proper commissions are received/recorded from LPL Financial and other third party providers as necessary.

  • Works with Program Manager in establishing personal growth, sales and revenue objectives, providing input and market intelligence. Accountability for revenue and activity goals as set by Program Manager.

  • Identifies opportunities, implements sales and achieve production and profit margins for all investment and insurance products.

  • Identifies current and future client service requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual clients. Provide high level of customer service and respond to client inquiries within established company standards.

  • Markets financial services by soliciting prospective and current clients, ascertaining their needs, explaining products and services, making sales presentations to both individuals and groups. Design and implements seminars.

  • Work with and develop working relationship with bank partners to identify internal and external prospects. Provide training as necessary to develop and enhance referral opportunities for CFS Group Inc. products and services.

  • Assists in management of investment portfolio by analyzing investment opportunities, making recommendations and buying and selling of securities as dictated by client goals and objectives, while utilizing strong business acumen, judgement and maturity to make confident and strategic recommendations.

  • Complies with SEC, FINRA, NYS Life Insurance Law, federal regulations, state regulations and broker dealer policies and procedures. Completes CE and licensing requirements as needed. Staying current with new and existing legislation and laws as they pertain to the financial services and tax issues affecting our clients and prospects.

  • Attends sales and trade meetings or conferences to help develop new sales skills or product knowledge. Utilize wholesalers for education and sales training for personal development or training for bank partners.

  • Conforms to General Performance Expectations as identified for all employees.

    Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A Bachelors Degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field of study preferred

  • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years experience in related investment and/or insurance position is normally required

  • Specialized investment and insurance product education and training required

  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar and mathematics skills

  • Proficient interpersonal rela­tions, communicative and sales skills

  • A thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all related investment and insurance products and services

  • Series 6 and 63 Licenses; Life and A & H Licenses required; Series 7 License preferred

  • Ability to travel; Valid driver's license required

Salary Range $55,380 to $70,000 annually

Compensation offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education and, where applicable, licenses or certifications obtained.
