Elmira College Administrative Coordinator of Teacher Education in Elmira, New York

Elmira College is a private liberal arts College located in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Elmira College was the first college to offer a comprehensive curriculum for women, and is home of the Center for Mark Twain Studies. We are seeking candidates to fill the position of Administrative Coordinator of Teacher Education for the Academic Affairs.Essential Functions of the Position:The Administrative Coordinator of Teacher Education is responsible for supporting programmatic expectations with regard to professional accreditation and certification standards at Elmira College, including NYSED, NC-SARA, and AAQEP. This position organizes and collects essential data as well as supports report creation. The Administrative Coordinator of Teacher Education confirms and reports student compliance with federal and state standards relative to program outcomes and maintains necessary records. A key component of this position rests in the employee’s ability to efficiently reconcile internal and external standards. This position serves as an essential component to maintaining compliance in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders and both undergraduate and graduate Teacher Education programs.Duties Include:Provide support and collaborate with GPS staff;Collect and organize data for the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders and the undergraduate and graduate Teacher Education programs, including but not limited to data mandated by NYSED and AAQEP;Maintain program specific outcomes data;Provide faculty training with regard to data collection and reporting;Ensure compliance for online programs and professional licensure requirements according to NC—Sara and federal law.Serve as the state authorization and licensing coordinator for NC-SARA:Maintain current knowledge of state authorization standards, policies, and state and federal laws relative to disclosure requirements for all professional licensure and certification;Manage data and documentation required for compliance;Develop and manage databases, website, and documents required for compliance;Provide regular reports as directed;Engage in professional development at the state and national levels to keep current on compliance related to NC-SARA and required professional licensure and certification disclosures; andProvide instructions and / or trainings for students to complete federal and state mandated certifications / clearances;Assist with student placements, ensure clear communication with cooperating teachers, and confirm placement reports are completed;Ensure the completion of institutional recommendations and / or provide students on the individualized pathway with clear instructions;Assist with budget monitoring, expenditures, etc.;Provide administrative support to Director of Teacher Education and Teacher Education faculty;Support Elmira College’s Speech and Hearing Clinic, including overseeing scheduling, accessibility, and billing services.Other duties as assignedQualifications:Associate’s degree is preferredExperience working in an office environment.
