The Role: The Maintenance Mechanic 2 performs skilled work in the operation, maintenance, repair, remodeling and construction of buildings, mechanical facilities, and equipment both individually and with other Facilities Maintenance staff as needed. Incumbents work independently and utilize a general knowledge of several related skill fields such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting. The duties, specific tasks or combinations of tasks are performed professionally and efficiently, incorporating both personal integrity and mutual respect. Job Duties Perform general maintenance, repair, remodeling, and construction. Work may include but not limited to: - Effectively communicate and maintain positive working relations with faculty, staff, students, and the campus community as well as FMD management team. Perform work in a manner that provides excellent service with nominal to no inconvenience or disruption for the client. Perform quality work that meets or exceeds the expectation and satisfaction of the client. - Perform work using Best Practices while maintaining compliance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures to provide a safe workplace. - General construction work including rough and finish carpentry work; examples include framing walls, install sheetrock and finish trim; install doors and trim.
