Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Account Manager with mining industry experience to join our team. The Senior Account Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with mining clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded. This role requires excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams to deliver exceptional service tailored to the unique requirements of the mining sector.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and nurture relationships with assigned mining clients, serving as their primary point of contact.

  • Understand clients’ mining operations, challenges, and objectives to provide tailored solutions and maximize value.

  • Proactively identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell products and services relevant to the mining industry to existing clients.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, engineering, and product development, to address client needs and deliver on commitments specific to the mining sector.

  • Communicate effectively with mining clients to provide updates on projects, resolve issues related to equipment, supplies, or services, and gather feedback on performance.

  • Prepare and deliver regular reports and presentations to mining clients, highlighting key metrics such as production efficiency, cost savings, and safety improvements.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes in the mining sector to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.

  • Manage contract negotiations and renewals with mining clients, ensuring favorable terms for both the client and the company.

  • Track and analyze key account metrics specific to the mining industry, such as uptime, equipment reliability, and environmental compliance.

  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to mining clients, striving to exceed their expectations and maintain long-term partnerships.

Qualifications/Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, mining engineering, or a related field

  • 5 years experience within the mining industry, with most recent experiences being in a field/shop/services role, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets

Preferred Qualification:

  • 5 years experience in account management or sales within the mining industry, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets

Additional Information

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with mining clients and internal teams.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment typical of the mining sector.

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in addressing challenges specific to mining operations.

  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Knowledge of mining equipment, processes, and safety regulations.

  • Experience with mining software and technologies is a plus.
