Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

Position available in: Elk Grove Village, IL

Job Type: Full-time

Education:

  • Associate degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.

  • Bachelors or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and/or advanced field training preferred.

    Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Experience designing for large automated systems from initial concept through installation and customer buy off.

  • Strong fundamental understanding of electrical design practices, machine/motion control systems, VFD/Drive control systems, and electro-mechanical systems.

  • Experience with PLC programming, ideally Siemens or Allen Bradley.

  • Proficient with EPLAN for creating electrical drawings.

  • Exposure to assembling and commissioning large motion-controlled systems and building panels.

  • Excellent documentation practices to record how to improve the project/processes going forward.

  • Detail oriented and able to manage several projects in parallel.

  • Knowledge and compliance of NEC, NFPA 79 and UL electrical standards.

    Job Responsibilities

  • Act as an expert resource to the electrical and controls engineering team.

  • Mentor and train junior teams members to advance their know-how knowledge

  • Provide electrical and controls engineering input for design of new equipment & system introductions.

  • Influence strategic planning to contribute to the success of technical projects

  • Generate and maintain electrical BOMs.

  • Generate panel layout for new automated systems.

  • Develop full electrical drawing set in EPLAN and maintain current electrical engineering standards/libraries/databases for to re-use sections of the drawings for future projects.

  • Assist Sales team with electrical engineering expertise for potential new products/projects.

  • Verifying NEC code compliance

  • Communicate directly with design team, procurement & production, and German colleagues.
