Position is responsible for the leadership and management of a team of engineers that develops and produces magnets, performs research on magnetic and electromagnetic technologies, and supports the development of magnetic and electromagnetic components, assemblies, and systems for new products. Develops and manages team and individual KPIs. Provides technical leadership and guidance across the organization. Supports the team in evaluating and troubleshooting complex technological issues with customer and in-house projects. Owns the R&D innovation and patent processes. Supports the development and execution of the technology roadmap. Participates actively in company strategic initiatives. Participates in business development activities as requested. Supports commercial team as requested.

Technology Leadership Responsibilities
- Build and manage a team of magnetic engineers, electrical engineers, and materials scientists that will support strategic goals. Recruit, hire and develop talent to support R&D team goals. Assign and manage task execution across the team. Provide training and technical development opportunities for the team.
- Lead and manage team of engineers responsible for engineering and design of magnets, magnetic components, electrical components, and other advanced technologies. The team will:
{=html} <!-- --> - - Engineer and design magnetics solutions using appropriate empirical, analytical, and numerical calculations, algorithms, and computer modeling software to analyze initial concepts and to iteratively modify such concepts to optimize design. - Performs magnetics research in support of business objectives. - Engineer and design electrical components and systems for new product introductions. - Engineer and manufacture custom magnets. - Follow and document Stage Gate Design Controls/Design History file, project related documents; e.g. developing detail prints, model and schematics, create test protocols, perform testing, write test reports, create inspection documents, create and document V&V activities (DOE/SPC process optimization & IQ, OQ, PQ). - Evaluate design integrity by performing complex design calculations to ensure design feasibility, proper function, and safety as required.
{=html} <!-- --> - Manage a team that works with all affected areas on DFM/DFA, cost reductions, ECRs/ECNs, DMRs and part obsolescence. - Communicate with and provide technical expertise to; suppliers, customers, Quality, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Sales. - Develop and manage your teams KPIs. Monthly, investigate and provide root cause analysis when KPIs are not met. Implement approved corrective actions. - Mentor the team in the development, execution, and improvement of technical processes including:

Participate actively in company strategic initiatives.

Takes responsibility for continuing technical and professional self-education, including attendance at engineering and scientific seminars and conferences.
Leads in promoting the technical expertise of the company through the creation of technical papers and articles for public dissemination.
Represents Dexter as a magnetics luminary in the global magnetics community. Promotes Dexters magnetics expertise in the scientific and business communities.
Provides face-to-face technical expertise for visits to high-value and high-profile customers.
Occasional attendance at trade shows and conferences, in an expert resource capacity.
Leads impactful presentations and seminars in a variety of settings: one to one, small and large groups with peers, direct reports, and senior management.
