The Department of Corrections (DOC) Training Academy is seeking a highly motivated candidate with experience in building maintenance and repair to join our team as a Corrections Maintenance Foreman. In this position, you will oversee inmate work crews in the performance of various maintenance, repair, construction, groundskeeping, and janitorial tasks in and around the facility. DESCRIPTION OF WORK Within the roughly 254 acres of the academy grounds, there are 10 operational buildings, which are composed of dormitory housing, training classrooms and spaces, a kitchen and dining hall, a boiler plant, a potable water distribution system, a sewage collection system, and a uniform distribution warehouse. As a Corrections Maintenance Foreman, your work assignments include lawn care, snow removal, janitorial duties, and other general maintenance. You will work independently or assist other maintenance staff in performing tasks related to carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, refrigeration, masonry, steam-fitting, welding, or other skilled trades. In addition, you will plan and assign daily inmate schedules, inspect completed work assignments, and issue and inventory all materials and tools used to complete work assignments.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 40 hours per week Work hours are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with a paid lunch. This position is eligible for full benefits at age 50 or 55. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44,753.00 (before taxes). QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Four years of experience performing building maintenance, construction, or general trades work; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements: Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
