Akebono Brake Corporation Route Driver, Group Leader - 3rd Shift in Elizabethtown, Kentucky

The Route Driver, Group Leader is responsible for performing the following duties: The specific job assignment may entail some or all of the job functions. Associates are expected to rotate through various job functions.

We are looking for a Material Handler - Route for 3rd Shift (10:00p - 6:30AM) working Monday-Friday.

  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming, outgoing and being moved around the factor to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records

  • Work with Superintendent to solve issues that may arise (i.e., employee relations, production output, etc.)

  • Checks all materials being moved for accurate labeling, quantity and paperwork.

  • Operates lift truck or use hand truck to move shipments from shipping and receiving area to storage or work area

  • Operate a tugger pulling carts to pick up materials in the raw materials supermarket and delivering them to the production lines

  • Affixes shipping labels and identification labels on items as required

  • Processes computer transaction for incoming, outgoing and inter-plant moves in MAPICS and Future 3 as required

  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, reject damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.  Routes items to departments

  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications

  • Maintains good housekeeping throughout the materials storage areas

  • Complies with all safety policies and procedures

  • May be required to train others

  • Checks all materials being moved for accurate labeling, quantity and paperwork.

  • Follow safe work practices and encourage others to do so. 

  • Follow standardized work instructions and train Associates to follow SWI.

  • Train new Associates and provide refresher training to Associates that have transferred onto the line or may need additional support.

  • Perform and record quality checks and supervise part output to verify they are meeting quality standards. 

  • Perform other duties as required

    Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of 3 years experience working in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience of two years working in a manufacturing materials department.

  • Able to lift 40 pounds on a regular basis.

  • Two years experience entering computer base transactions

  • Three years Fork lift driving experience and a current certification

  • Excellent communication with others with the ability to work-well under pressure and proactively problem solve.

  • Display strong organizational and time management skills.
