Description
POSITION SCOPE:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and improving the filling and packaging equipment and machinery in our food packaging facility. The Maintenance Technician performs both routine and preventative maintenance as scheduled through work order control. Equipment includes vertical form-fill-seal such as Hayssen and Matrix, horizontal form-fill-seal such as Bartelt, multi-lane vertical such as Ropak, and cartoning machines.

Maintenance Manager
ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Understands, follows, and enforces all established safety health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures, and recognized practices.
Understands, follows, and enforces all established policies, procedures, and recognized practices.
Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
Set up and troubleshoot packaging machines and lines
Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards
Regulate machine flow or speed
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during operation and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Perform simple machinist skills.
Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
Assist and train production employees in proper operation and maintenance of machinery
Limited travel may be required
Maintains quality service through organization standards.
Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
Strong self-starter. Must be investigative by nature and willing to challenge the status quo.
Extremely detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Bilingual (Spanish)
Exceptional critical thinking & problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with payroll systems and software applications
Reading comprehension of technical documents
Excellent written and spoken communication skills
Exemplary analytic problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to nurture effective professional relationships with management, staff, vendors and customers
Excellent time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities
