Raytheon is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Se nior Software Engineer to be an active participant on the software development team at El Segundo Development Center.

    Deliverables for this role include:

  • Technical leadership and participation on collaborative, cross-disciplined integrated product teams, often employing agile system and software development operations to plan, specify, design, test, and integrate complex software and systems solutions.

  • Responsibilities include inventions and innovations of new products and technologies, from architecture and design, through integration, lab test and field test.

  • Collaborating effectively with other disciplines and senior technical staff, in addition to producing planning and technical work products for internal customers to form original solutions to complex problems.

  • Developing software requirements and FPGA level interface requirements derived from system level requirements, developing associated architectures, performing simulations and analysis and testing of the software in a laboratory setting.

  • Work in an advanced product development team environment with systems, firmware, electrical and software engineers.

  • This position will require occasional business-related travel.

  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

  • Able to work onsite at El Segundo, CA.

    Required Skills include:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software design, integration and test utilizing C / C++ OR similar languages.

  • Experience with embedded microprocessor design, system on a chip software design, FPGAs, high-speed transceivers, DDR, flash memories, block diagrams, signal analyses and signal generation.

  • Experience with embedded Linux, Windows or bare metal operation systems onto real-time applications

  • Experience in product testing using logic analyzers, high-speed oscilloscopes, signal generators, and system on a chip debugging tools.

  • Experience with interfaces and bus standards such as: VME, PCI, PCIe, VPX, or Gb Ethernet

  • Clearance and Citizenship Requirement: Must have an Active/Current DoD Secret Clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Experience in software lifecycle phases: software architecture, system/software requirements analysis, design, implementation, verification testing, system integration, and post-delivery maintenance.

  • Education: Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of relevant software development experience.

    Highly Advanced Skills include:

  • Current TS Clearance

  • Prior experience supporting Signal Processing / Radar Software

  • Experience with embedded system concepts such as preemptive, multitasking real-time OS.

  • Experience with OOA/D and UML or similar design language/notation

  • Experience with developing, testing, and integrating software in a DoD environment.

  • Experience with Software Architecture, signal processing, or related engineering activities

  • Familiarity with container use, Kubernetes and DevOps

  • Familiarity with Agile or working knowledge of lifecycle processes including Scrum, Continuous Integration, and Model based development.

Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.

Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 3 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 2 years experience.

Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

The salary range for this role is 85,000 USD - 179,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
