Purpose:

Athene Holding Ltd. seeks a highly motivated Senior Legal Investments Counsel for our Investments Legal team. This position will work closely with the organization’s Legal, Risk and Finance teams and its Investment Manager to manage the company's complex debt facilities, including its funding agreement backed repurchase agreements, facilitate a wide variety of debt and equity investments and assist with other bespoke transactions. The ideal candidate will be a high performing, business savvy attorney with significant experience in Debt/Investment/Asset Management/Fund Legal experience in a private law firm and/or corporate legal department environment. Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate investment-related regulatory filings and correspondence.

  • Coordinate with multiple legal and investment teams of our Investment Manager.

  • Assist with structuring and negotiating investment transactions.

  • Assist with negotiating and managing compliance for the company's debt and letter of credit facilities and its funding agreement backed repurchase agreements .

  • Support other general corporate matters such as corporate transactions.

  • Assist with investment compliance and governance processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 7+ years of Debt/Investment/Asset Management/Fund Legal experience in a private law firm and/or corporate legal department environment.

  • J.D. from an ABA accredited law school; license to practice law in California.

  • Self-motivated with an ability to work independently and manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

  • Solid understanding of complex structural, corporate, and regulatory issues pertaining to sophisticated corporate transactions made by regulated entities.

  • Strong work ethic and demonstrated ability to work efficiently under tight timelines.

  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity.

$189,600.00 - $284,400.00 USD Annual

Annual Salary for this role is market competitive. Actual salary for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Depending on the role, a discretionary bonus plan or variable sales incentive may be included.
