Job Summary:

Responsible for the overall operation of the manufacturing facility to include all production lines as well as support areas including safety, quality assurance, training, housekeeping, and maintenance.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides direction to plant personnel in promoting an environment that supports continuous improvement, teamwork, training, and personal development.

  • Facilitates communication between management and employees to ensure employee concerns are heard and addressed.

  • Assists with budget preparation and monitors expenses related to area(s) of responsibility.

  • Works closely with Quality Assurance Manager to identify root causes of non-conformances and develop effective corrective actions.

  • Ensures compliance with established policies, procedures, and practices through appropriate communication, training, and education of sound quality assurance principles.

  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with internal customers, suppliers, contractors, vendors, regulatory agencies, and professional organizations.

  • Promotes awareness of FDA regulations and GMP/GDP guidelines.

  • Interacts regularly with corporate auditors and responds to their findings.

  • Plans and schedules work assignments to meet production requirements while ensuring overtime is kept to a minimum.

  • Monitors and approves vacation requests and timecards.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Three years supervisory experience preferred.

  • Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing techniques.

  • Strong organizational skills required with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software.

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

  • Previous experience working in a medical device manufacturing environment required.

  • Training or experience in Six Sigma/Lean preferred.
