Prep Cook Job Responsibilities and Duties

• Reports to the head chef or cook and remains updated with daily menus
• Conscientiously handles organic and eco-friendly ingredients
• Performs basic cooking functions as needed
• Checks storage temperature at regular intervals
• Helps minimize over-production
• Ensures adequate food stock
• Leads sanitation of kitchen and cooking equipment

Prep Cook Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of kitchen preparation and food service preferred
• Basic cooking skills
• Deep knowledge of various meal ingredients and cooking equipment
• Working knowledge of food and sanitation guidelines and regulations
• Able to maintain a flexible work schedule
• Able to stand for extended periods
• Able to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs
• Diploma or certification from a culinary school
