Major/Essential Functions:
Provides patient care in the areas of burn, trauma, and surgical critical care in hospital and outpatient settings
Instructs and supervises medical students and surgery residents
Performs burn and surgical procedures
Conducts clinical research and/or produces scholarship related to burn and surgical critical care.Provide in-house on-call coverage, as scheduled
Ensures compliance and HIPAA and billing regulations
Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Statement of Faculty Professional Responsibility

Preferred Qualifications:
Board certification in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery
Board certification in surgical critical care by the American Board of Surgery
Strong work ethics and good team player
Experience or interest in teaching students and residents
Experience or interest in conducting research and publishing scientific reports
Emerging or established regional and national reputation for the rank of associate professor higher

Required Qualifications:
M.D/D.O.
Successful completion of ACGME-accredited residency training in general surgery
Successful completion of ACGME-accredited fellowship training in Surgical Critical Care
Successful completion of fellowship training in burn surgery
Texas Medical License or eligible for licensure in the State of Texas
