Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Manager in the Wholesale Distribution - Dur Goods industry, based in El Monte, California. As an Accounting Manager, you will oversee the accurate and efficient management of accounting functions, including month-end close processes, maintaining balance sheet account reconciliations, and transitioning the company from a cash basis to an accrual basis.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the execution of accounting functions in a timely and accurate manner
• Manage the month-end close process, ensuring all subledgers and reports align with the general ledger
• Maintain accuracy in balance sheet account reconciliations
• Prepare necessary adjusting journal entries as part of the month-end close activities
• Transition the company's accounting method from a cash basis to an accrival basis
• Manage inventory costs and conduct physical inventory counts
• Utilize QuickBooks for various accounting tasks
• Communicate effectively with various levels of management across different teams
• Leverage intermediate spreadsheet software skills for various tasks. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the Wholesale Distribution - Dur Goods industry
• Proven track record in managing Accounting Functions
• Proficient in Month End Close and Month-end Close Activities
• Demonstrated expertise in Accrual Accounting
• High level of proficiency in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation
• Proficient in QuickBooks software
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a must, Master's degree is a plus
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Familiarity with financial regulations and legislation
• CPA certification is preferred.
