Job Description

The dispatcher is responsible for coordinating the activities of employees engaged in delivering products efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Confer with plant production and yard personnel to establish delivery schedules based on truck capacities, distances to delivery sites, and unloading times.

  • Coordinate with customer service representatives regarding scheduled delivery times.

  • Generate invoices, delivery tickets, and related shipping documents.

  • Assign drivers for scheduled deliveries of concrete products.

  • Generate reports of cash and charge sales.

  • Strive to meet customer expectations and achieve highly positive customer satisfaction survey results.

  • Coordinate with operations and sales to resolve problems and improve service quality.

  • Develop working relationships with internal customers to ensure customer needs are addressed.

  • Record quantities of sand, cement, gravel, and water required for each mix on loading tickets.

  • Maintain radio contact with drivers to expedite deliveries.

  • Recommend procedural improvements to management for enhancing customer service.

  • Adhere to all company and OSHA rules and regulations and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds.

  • Meet or exceed company safety standards.

  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management.

Essential Skills

  • 1 year of dispatching experience preferred.

  • 3 years of experience in a customer-facing role.

  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Ability to manage high call volumes.

  • Experience in call center or logistics environments.

  • Proficiency in inbound call handling.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with service and logistics operations.

  • Ability to develop working relationships with internal and external customers.

Work Environment

The work environment is an office setting with an open floor plan and cubicles. The onsite schedule is from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, and during busy seasons, it may shift to 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The company provides full benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and a 401k with a company match. Equipment will be provided, and there is an opportunity to work with key accounts that have been customers for over 20 years. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
