Actalent Quality Engineer in El Cajon, California

Job Title: Quality EngineerJob Description

Reviews customer, industry, and internal specifications to ensure compliance with stated requirements. Provides technical support to operations, customers, suppliers, and program managers as needed. Supports and leads special process and customer audits.

Responsibilities

  • Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.

  • Completes Quality Engineering assignments with minimal supervision.

  • Assists quality engineering team members as necessary.

  • Implements and manages quality assurance procedures, policies, and standards.

  • Creates and reviews first article inspection reports.

  • Creates and reviews customer control plans.

  • Monitors and manages new program metrics and facilitates efforts to drive continual improvement within plant value streams or new program launches.

  • Executes on customer, operations, or new program technical deliverables.

  • Supports on-time delivery of orders through the manufacturing process including DMR resolution, process verification activity, and FAIR/Source/Conformity activity.

  • Leads and provides technical advice and counsel to cross-functional teams.

  • Hosts or participates in customer and third-party audits as needed along with providing technical support.

  • Utilizes problem-solving skills and toolkits such as 5 Why, 8D, A3, and Fishbone.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

  • Quality Engineering background , ideally within Aerospace and Defense

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • BS or BA degree from a 4-year college or university with 1+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Quality Management Systems

  • NADCAP

  • Lean and Six Sigma

  • Corrective Action

  • CMM

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)

  • Inspection Methods & Tools

  • Knowledge of standard manufacturing processes, metal forming, assembly/test in an Aerospace environment preferred

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $47.00
