TriMas Corporation Manager of Materials & Inventory Control in El Cajon, California

Job Summary:

Responsible for leading the supply chain in a synchronized manner which results in on time delivery of quality product to meet customer demand. Ensure the material inventory is balanced in a manner which supports customer need and company financial goals. The Manager of Materials & Inventory Control will have responsibility for the Purchasing, Planning, Stock Room and Shipping functions and creating a continuous improvement culture.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain.

Oversee the material procurement process and ensure that it is executed in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Oversee the product planning and scheduling process to ensure product is being manufactured in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Oversee supporting functions such as material allocation, material expediting, and shipping are done in a timely and accurate manner to support customer on time delivery.

Ensure material inventory is maintained in an accurate and organized manner.

Ensure material inventory levels are maintained and monitored to minimize excess and obsolete product.

Train, manage and mentor Materials team to support Purchasing, Planning and Supply Chain related tasks.

Establish and report on metrics and key performance indicators that inform the health of the supply chain.

Gather needed information on and understanding of customer demands; meet specific needs for just-in-time shipping, inventory management, distribution and fulfillment.

Address and resolve customer issues as required.

Ensure Purchasing, Planning and Supply Chain tasks are aligned to company goals and strategies.

Suggest improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.

Develop policies and procedures to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain.

Establishes policies and procedures to negotiate prices for material and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies

Monitors and addresses the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements. Identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.

Conform to company safety policies and procedures.

Work in a team environment.

The pay scale for this position ranges from $110,000.00-$140,000.00 annually.
