Lockheed Martin Cyber System Security Engineer Staff in Eglin AFB, Florida

Description: What We're Doing

As a Cyber System Security Engineer Staff for the F35 Training System Program, you'll be at the forefront of developing and maintaining the advanced software systems that power the F-35 aircraft training systems. Your work will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including system testing, requirements analysis, verification and validation, collaboration and communication with cross-functional teams, risk management, and continuous improvement.

The Work

As a Cyber Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the security posture of critical systems. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Developing and testing patches to mitigate vulnerabilities in Software, Hardware, and Firmware.

• Managing vulnerabilities through analysis and remediation of IAVMs, Cyber Tasking Orders (CTOs), CVEs, Vendor Patches, and STIG configurations.

• Documenting and verifying all installation and configuration steps patch installations.

• Following Agile processes to submit problem reports and coordinate integration activities with Cross Functional Product Teams.

• Documenting lessons learned, best security engineering practices, and industry standards as part of daily tasks.

Please note:

-This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

-This position will involve 25% travel .

Who You Are

As a Cyber Systems Engineer Staff on the F-35 Training Systems team, you're a highly skilled and motivated professional. You possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.

• Proven experience in developing and testing patches for software, hardware, and firmware vulnerabilities.

• Proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems, including installation and configuration.

• Strong documentation skills and ability to create detailed test plans and procedures.

• Experience working within Agile development processes.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

A level 4 employee is typically senior-career and has 9+ years of professional experience with a bachelors or 7+ years with a masters.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education,

- DoDI 8570 certification (e.g., Security+)

- Experience with WSUS is required. The ideal candidate will have experience building WSUS instances, integrating them into complex environments.

- Windows Operating System Experience

- Linux Operating System Experience

- DISA STIG Experience

- Proficient with PowerShell

Desired Skills:

- Experience with Red Hat Satellite Server

- Proficiency in C, C++ or Python

- Experience managing Windows Group Policy Objects (GPOs)

- Experience with Ansible

- Nessus or ACAS experience

- SCAP SCC or similar vulnerability scanning tools

- Experience using JIRA/Confluence Atlassian web-based tools

- Excellent technical document preparation skills and verbal communications are required for presentation of technical information assurance issues and reports to senior government and military officials.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
