Embedded Software Engineer

ATEC is looking for a Software Engineer to support the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Development, Maintenance and Testing of Real-Time Embedded Software in support of the ASR-9 Radar System.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Must be proficient with C or other high-level software language.

• Must be proficient in LINUX.

• Ability to learn a new language or already have experience with PLM-86.

• Experience in designing, developing, optimizing, coding, testing, reviewing and debugging embedded systems with real-time multitasking operating systems.

• Designs and develops code for physical hardware devices utilizing software applications to solve problems and implement systems.

• Experience with utilizing a Logic Analyzer to troubleshoot embedded computer systems.

• Validate and integrate new designs for the complex systems.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Track preparation and delivery status of required deliverables.

• Attend and may lead meetings, design reviews, working group and briefings.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

• LINUX is required.

• Knowledge in programming, developing, testing an embedded real-time computer system is a must.

EDUCATION/YEARS of EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Math, or a Bachelor’s degree in another technical field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and seven (7) years of related work experience in a computer science or math field

OR

• Master's Degree in any field of study with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours of either undergrad or grad study in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and five (5) years related work experience in a computer science or math field.

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

• US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US

• Applicants selected will be subject to a government investigation

• Has been living in the US for a minimum of 3 years

WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Works indoors in office conditions primarily sitting/standing for prolonged periods.

• Occasional travel for installations and/or technical support if needed.

PAY RANGE:

• $65,000 - $83,000
