Computer Scientist

ATEC is looking for a Computer Scientist to support the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA's) Target Generation Facility (TGF).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Support system development, testing

• Review and comment on system engineering documents, system requirement documents, system testing documents

• Attend system design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and any other meetings as requested to support program and team.

• Possess a technical understanding of systems, databases, networking, computing environments, and virtualization.

• Develop and manage system engineering artifacts, system requirements artifacts, system testing artifacts, and required product baseline artifacts.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

Required:

• Able to support software applications in Linux environment

• Able to troubleshoot networking, hardware, and Operating System (OS) issues

• Experience in performing system testing including issue documentation, troubleshooting, test procedure creation, and test report generation

• Working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux

• Knowledge of Scripting languages

• Proficient technical writing and oral communication skills

EDUCATION/YEARS of EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Math, or a Bachelor's degree in another technical field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of math, statistics, and computer science.

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

• US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US

• Applicants selected will be subject to a government investigation

• Has been living in the US for at least the past 3 years

PAY RANGE:

• $50,000 - $85,000*
