CS Energy Accounting Supervisor in Edison, New Jersey

CS Energy is looking for an Accounting Supervisor to report to our Director of Accounting. This position is based in our headquarters in Edison, NJ. The role is hybrid with 3 days in the office and the rest based remotely. In this position you work closely with upper management, while getting visibility into how a fast-growing PE-backed business operates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports project accounting for the vastly diverse renewable energy (Solar and BESS) projects we are building which includes consistent review of construction and progress schedule.

  • Supports the design and implementation of accounting procedures, and work directly with the independent audit firm, to produce financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

  • Works alongside the external tax team to meet tax compliance and reporting requirements.

  • Regularly collaborates with other departments of the business to provide budget to actual reporting and tax guidance, while ensuring appropriate financial accounting.

  • Prepares and reviews monthly work papers.

  • Maintains accounting fixed asset records and depreciation calculations.

  • Handles books and records, as well as reporting requirements, for a joint venture.

  • Works closely with the project development team on the numerous development projects including budgeting and overhead sales process.

  • Assists in the development of annual company overhead budget and analyzing budget to actual.

  • Other ad hoc accounting task, as assigned.

  • Prepare and review quarterly covenant calculations and compliance certificates for lenders.

  • Prepare lender financial statements on a monthly basis.

  • Coordinate research on new accounting standards and coordinate any work with outside consultants.

  • Review and file quarterly and annual sales tax returns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles and standards (GAAP). CPA preferred.

  • 6+ years of public accounting at either mid-tier or big 4 firms OR private equity - backed company preferred.

  • Solid understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations.

  • Experience in working with accounting software and databases.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

  • Superior data analysis skills.

  • Motivation to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, PE-backed business.
